Back to the Basics

I realized on my drive home yesterday (where I do my best thinking) that “our” blog has been derailed! Mainly because it isn’t “my” blog – but a “family” blog! So today, we’re going to have Fun Friday and get back to our “Roots”, as my good friend Whitney Houston once said.

So, we’re going to do a review of the fam & how things are going:

Starting out with: Dada
So – the interesting thing here is that Danny has been growing this thing on his face for more than a year. He constantly gets compliments on how great it looks (men AND women). He’s been caught more than once braiding or putting ponytails in it. Other than his magnificent ability to produce more facial hair than the average male – he’s also been busy with work. Throwing the ball with Riley on Sunday’s during halftime of whatever game is on is an awesome release of that tension/stress.

Next Up: Cat baby
Fifth grade so far is awesome. This is her last year of elementary school so – ya know, that scares a mother to death. Next year we’ll have 2 in middle school. (pause for emotional breakdown…. ) She’s been playing softball and just wrapped up last night. Their team finished in 1st place and they celebrated with cake. The league couldn’t afford trophies this year – so, they gave them cake. Perfect, right?

And then we have: RMan
Our little football star. This is his 1st year playing flag football and he is LOVING every minute of it. He’s obsessed with stats, players, etc. He’s also playing fantasy football with us online. If you couldn’t tell, football pretty much engulfs his 10 year old life. He is primed & ready for 6th grade already… Breezing thru 5th grade with all A’s – he makes school look like childs play.

The one & Only: Ky
Michiah is enjoying 4th grade and softball! Her team finished dead LAST… but her season on 3rd base was nothing short of thrilling. She’s an All-Star for SURE. Those long legs serve her well as she is THE fastest kid on the field (no kidding). She is all about some football right now too… mainly because she & Riley are BFF’s. They love to throw together and run plays. She’s also the only one that pays attention during his football games.

And finally: Bugs
Second grade is nuts y’all. This little ball of energy has more homework than all of the other kids combined. BUT, she’s making the best of it. She’s also in cheerleading. This Saturday she’ll be in her 1st parade. Have you ever seen a buncha 7 year olds trying to walk in a group without clumping?? SO funny!! She practices her cheer meticulously and has a darn good high-kick. We are really looking forward to it!

And then there’s me:
Not much to tell that you don’t already know! With the exception of the pink hair… I didn’t do it this year. We got a new boss and I don’t know how she’d take it. I do, however, plan to get a pink ribbon tattoo this year instead =)

Here are a few more random pics of our latest adventures.

Until then...
